World, listen up. I have discovered a new podcast that is sure to appeal to geeks of my age all around the world. The HiFi SciFi Podcast is a retrospective of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Its hosts, Jason and Paul, plan to watch every ST:TNG episode and discuss it on their show.
The point? To entertain people like me who watched the show in the 80s and 90s, and to instruct people who’ve never seen TNG about which episodes they should watch and which they should skip. (I hope they tell people to skip the scary one where Riker is in some kind of Inceptionesque dream prison. That one is like nails on a chalkboard.)
On a Thursday the hosts will announce which episode they’ll be talking about next, giving you the listener time over the weekend to watch it and form an opinion. Then on Tuesdays the full episode will be released. That’s the plan, anyway.
So far there has only been two full episodes of HFSF, about the pilot episode, Encounter at Farpoint, and the risible but sexy second. And even though I’ve just discovered what seems to be a GALAXY-ful of podcasts with a similar concept, I’m already confident the HFSF podcast is going to stay on my phone.
Take a listen to the first full episode on their website, here.
